The Utility Expo 2025 Elevates On-Floor Education with Field Classrooms and Industry Safety Luncheon Symposium

MILWAUKEE  The Utility Expo, North America’s largest trade show for utility professionals and construction contractors, is highlighting its educational offerings for 2025 with 90-minute field classroom sessions and a special Luncheon Symposium focused on advancing safety in the electric utility industry. 

Held October 7–9, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, The Utility Expo continues to lead the industry by connecting professionals with hands-on opportunities to learn, test and grow. These professional educational experiences are designed to deliver high impact learning directly on the show floor, maximizing attendees’ time and value.

The field classroom sessions, priced at $129 and limited to 30 attendees, are designed as walking tours through the indoor and outdoor show floor. Led by industry experts, these sessions blend real-world demonstrations with expert instruction, offering practical insights into today’s most pressing utility and construction topics.

From Insight to Action: Industry Leaders Unite at the Luncheon Symposium 

In addition to the field classrooms, The Utility Expo will host a Luncheon Symposium: Advancing Safety in the Electric Utility Industry, priced at $149, a must-attend event for professionals committed to reducing risk and fostering a culture of safety, held on Wednesday, Oct 8, 2025. Lunch is included with the registration and space is limited 

"Safety is much more than protocol. It’s a culture that starts with leadership shaping a safer, stronger future for our workforce,” said Somers. “The Luncheon Symposium is a unique opportunity to bring together voices from across the electric utility industry to share what’s working, what’s changing, and how we can collectively raise the bar. 

The symposium will open with a keynote address by Mike Starner, Executive Director of Outside Line Safety at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). His presentation, “Safety – Past, Present, and Future,” will explore the evolution of safety practices in the electric utility industry, emphasizing core principles such as hazard management, competency-based training, and field leadership. 

Following the keynote, an Executive Perspectives panel will feature industry leaders discussing current safety challenges and successful initiatives. The session will conclude with a Roundtable Discussion moderated by experts, offering an open forum to share lessons learned and explore collaborative strategies for improving worker safety. 

Peter Mastrorocco, Senior Vice President of Education, Events, & Partnerships at NECA, will also speak during the event.
